When I read iMessages on my iPhone and/or iPad, my MacBook Air doesn't recognize that they've been read and they show as new messages. I've logged out/in of my iCloud account and iMessages to try to resolve, but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you.

We see you're having an issue with the read status of messages syncing across devices, and we'd like to help out.
We noted you mentioned that the Mac doesn't reflect the messages on the iOS device, but does the reverse OK? If you read the message initially on the Mac, do the iOS devices reflect the message being read?
Also, double-check to see if you have Messages in iCloud enabled on each device. Details on ensuring that's set up can be found here: Use Messages in iCloud
Be sure that all devices are updated as well:

Thanks for trying those steps out.
Just to clarify, does reading the iMessage initially on the Mac reflect it being read on the iOS devices when you check?
If you haven't yet, try to also force quit the Messages app on each device:

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch
Then, restart each device that's involved (both iOS devices, and the Mac). See if that resolves it for you.
