I have a Mophie 3 in 1 charger (Christmas gift) that worked perfectly with my IPhone XMax. Why won’t it work with my new IPhone 12 Max? Apple says it’s Mophie’s problem; Mophie says it’s Apple issue; the magnet placement in the 12 is the problem

Why won’t my IPhone 12 Max Pro charge on my brand new Mophie 3/1 wireless charger that had no problem with my IPhone XMax? Apple says charging pad is faulty; Mophie says it’s a common compliant and is Apple problem as they placed magnet in these new phones too close to the charging unit. They did offer to send a new Mophie unit but really didn’t think it would make any difference. If that’s true, I’m headed back to the Apple store; I want answers. Both expensive and Apple recommends Mophie!
