Mouse Keyboard and password won’t work

So my MacBook Air made noise as if I press a bunch of keys at once then it black out. When I turn it back on the keyboard or mouse wasn’t working. I keep getting these two pictures. When I turn on my MacBook.

I don’t know what they were referring and I’ve never used those. So I a bought a USB mouse from Amazon which work. The two screens went away so now I am at this screen

I chose MacHD and it brought me to the screen to Sign In with Apple ID but my my keyboard doesn’t work to type in the the ID. The only options I had when I click the Apple is startup disk, restart, and shut down. So I shut down and pressed SHIFT, COMMAND, P, R which brought me back to my original Apple sign in screen and my keyboard allows me to type in my password in pic below but it keep saying me password wrong

It gave me the option to reset password through Apple ID and I get the same previous picture and CANT type my Apple ID.

if I choose the start up disk and click unlock it won’t let me type the password.

do anybody knows what maybe wrong with my MacBook Air 11” -MAC OS 10.15.7?

The keyboard ONLY works when I get to the screen to unlock my computer. But it’s telling me my password is wrong, which is not. When I choose the option to reset password I get the Apple logo with a loading bar, then it gets to the recovery assistant screen asking for Apple ID but my keyboard won’t type to allow me to put in my Apple ID.

No luck. So I bought a usb keyboard. I still can’t unlock my computer but I was able to to enter my Apple ID and password and I got this error message

I went to Apple.com/support/systemstatus snd everything is okay

Im not connected to a VPN. I have the highest speed Xfinity offers because I work from home. And the SMC Reset doesn’t work. I had the same password on my MacBook for 4 years so I know I’m entering it in correctly. The caps locks is not ON as well.

Update!!!!!!!!!! I fixed it on my own. I kept playing with it and tried to sign in, my trackpad and keyboard eventually worked BUT I’ve notice my keyboard was typing in Shift AND caps locks on its own, which is why it kept saying my password was wrong. So I figure my keyboard must had a malfunction. I purchase a new keyboard from ifixit.com and with the help of YouTube University 🤣 I was able to fix my MacBook for $40!! Pictured is my old keyboard and my P.C. logged in again.

Hello Xcusemypretti! Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you're unable to type with the keyboard when you receive a password prompt. We'd like to look into this with you to see how we can help.

It's possible that the built in keyboard isn't working. If you connect an external keyboard by USB to your Mac, are you able to type, then?

If you're able to type with an external keyboard, let's use the external keyboard to attempt an SMC reset for your Mac: How to reset the SMC of your Mac

Make it a great day!
