I’m getting threatening texts from Norton, about how I’m going to loose all my data if I don’t sign up with them. I’d like to speak with an apple employee to find out if it’s a scam.

Do I need to spend this ungodly $ on Norton or is it a scare tactic?this is on of several texts I’m getting.

iPhone SE, iOS 14

Yes, it is a scam. All such messages are scams from criminals. Do not interact with the message or the sender. Never, never, never download anything based on a popup message. If you are seeing the messages from your calendar, see below.

If running iOS 13 or earlier versions, check: Settings - Passwords & Accounts - Accounts - Any rogue entries here? If so, delete the rogue account.

If running iOS 14, check: Settings - Calendar - Accounts - Any rogue entries here? If so, delete the rogue account.
