If all you have is the trial iWork '09 DVD, then do not install it anywhere as it is a timed usage disc with no means to make it a retail solution.
If you have the retail iWork '09 DVD, and an external DVD player, you can reinstall it into High Sierra or earlier, or macOS Mojave 10.14.5 and subsequent Mojave updates. It will not function with Mojave 10.14.0 through 10.14.4. As a 32-bit application suite, it is unsupported (dead) in macOS Catalina 10.15.* and macOS Big Sur 11.*. Once you have installed it where it is supported since OS X 10.7.4, you should apply the last iWork '09 12/2012 update for better application compatibility, versioning, and autosave features.
You. can use Apple's iCloud applications (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) to open/modify/save documents created by later generations of these applications, and where features are supported from earlier document formats.
