Thanks for following up with us! So we understand correctly, are you saying that the contacts can make calls to other non-iPhone users without issue? Are you able to call another iPhone using FaceTime audio and see if the audio works as expected? This will help us isolate the problem a bit more, as the FaceTime audio calls are made over the Apple servers instead of the wireless network.

To further isolate the issue, does this happen when you're holding the iPhone to your ear, using speakerphone, or using headphones? If this happens with all 3, is the contact also using an iPhone, and if so, are you able to make a FaceTime audio call to them without issue? These details will help us better determine where the problem is happening.
