The built-in anti-malware does well.


Most folks get in trouble with running older macOS versions, or with subscribing to a spammer’s calendar, with deliberately-installed adware, or with concerns triggered by pop-ups or other advertising.

If you do not already have a current and complete backup, go get that now. Like right now. This on the off chance that there is a hardware problem here.


Then… Download and run EtreCheck (free), then share the report to the clipboard. Open a new reply here, press the button that looks like a printed page to get a big-enough text input box, and paste the hardware and software configuration report here.
