turn trackpad off/on MacBook

I want to be able to turn off the trackpad quickly, instead of going to:

System Preferences/Accessibility/Pointer Control.

Is there any way to create a shortcut for this?

Hi ptplans,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Apple Support Communities! We understand that you'd like to create a shortcut to turn off the trackpad on your MacBook Pro. At this time, "You can create keyboard shortcuts only for existing menu commands. You can’t create keyboard shortcuts for general purpose tasks, such as opening an app."

For more details, check out Create keyboard shortcuts for apps on Mac

If you'd like to see this change in the future, we encourage you to submit Product Feedback so that our engineering teams see it.

Have a great day.
