iPhone 12 pro

My wife and Just bought a new iPhone 12 pros. We have same phone. Same plan, etc. my phone will not connect to internet unless it is using WiFi. Cellular data very limited. Location sharing doesn’t work on cellular network. I think my new phone is defective. What can I do about this?

A couple things:

  1. Did you start with a new sim card or transfer the sim from your previous phone? You should use a new sim card which is provisioned for 5G service
  2. Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data > Unless you know you have access to 5G continuously, set your phone to 5G Auto or if you know you don't 5G service where you live, to LTE
