2-Prong power plug in 2021?

I have a hefty uninterruptible power supply (UPS) intended for use with my new M1 Mac Mini -- so that it would not be cut off in the event of a loss of electrical service.

This UPS unit (as it should) only accepts *3-prong* plugs. It rejects anything else...you can't push them in.

I was "shocked" to see a 1980's-style TWO-PRONG plug in the year 2021 -- and very disappointed.

What do people do to provide constant battery power backup (non-laptop) if there's only an ANCIENT two-prong plug on the power cord?

:::

In 2015, someone in Apple Forums asked "why Apple chose not to include a ground prong on the power plug for the Mac Mini?" -- (i.e., a 3-prong power plug).

They were told, "It is not needed because of the design of the power supply inside the Mini."

That was an insufficient answer to this question.

Then there was an official Apple Power Adapter Extension cable.. (retail $19)

IF this Mac mini(?) uses a cable such as other later model products.

And reputable reseller OWC has some:

(*) Apple Service Part: 1.8 Meter (72") Apple Genuine AC Power Cable - Good/Excellent Condition, 'Unused, Bulk Packaged'

Works with any Apple Power Adapter with similar connection.

However might not be what you've indicated, w/o information.

Actual M1 Mac Mini still probably has similar socket recessed

into the body ; double-insulated such as Late 2012 Mac mini.

That'd still work with APC UPS and two prong AC.
