If you find the profile you can delete it, but if you do, that will disable all apps provided by the company or school and cancel the company or school email account and VPN connection, if any.
The other possibility is if the phone is a company issued phone that is under MDM (Mobile Device Management). If it is then you cannot disable the setting.
I don't have a work/school email on my phone at all and the auto lock option is blocked out. Is there any suggestion on how to fix this?
Check if your device is in Low Power Mode. If so, the auto lock option will be greyed out and the auto lock time restricted to 2 minutes.
Good observation. However, it isn’t the apps themselves that are blocking, it is the email accounts if they are company or school provided.
Good to know, Lawrence. I wish these forums had a way to give kudos to individual users.. you’re very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for serving here, you ROCK!
I agree with @Lawrence Finch, @FedericoV62 is venting and barking up the wrong tree.
I very much doubt that the gmail app is the issue. Gmail (Google) doesn't impose any security policy on your phone. It's your Outlook app (that would be set up with your employer) that's the issue.
Never is not an option in low power mode. It would defeat the purpose of low power mode.
You found the right solution. And yes, sometimes turning something on and off can fix a problem.
I have this same problem on my iPad no accounts are attached to this.

Is the iPad in Low Power Mode (the battery icon will be yellow)?
Thank you! This worked!
Thank you Viyanit- Your solution worked!
I don’t understand any of this. This is my own phone, and I am the person who uses it. But with a black screen you can’t. None of these settings are there. Is the iPad dead?
Me, too. It makes no sense. And it won’t charge.
