How to remove unwanted holidays from Mac Calendar

How do you remove certain holidays from Mac Calendar? You can't. However....

  1. In the Calendar app on your Mac, choose Calendar > Preferences, then click General.
  2. Deselect “Show Holidays calendar.”


I manually put ten traditional holidays in Mac Calendar. I put them in as normal calendar entries, complete with each one's specific recurrence criteria. It took a little over ten minutes to do it. Done!


You can still import your personal calendar data from Google, Yahoo, or whomever, just don't select "holidays."
