how do i get the (find my) app on my 2011 sierra macbook pro it is not in the app store for some reason so I can't find my iphone

You don't. The Find My app requires a minimum of macOS 10.15 Catalina that a 2011 Mac cannot run. For Macs the age of yours this link tells you who to enable a similar function:
