Has a fix for the battery drain issue been issued yet? I listen to podcasts everyday. I just got an upgrade to the 12 and the battery drains super fast when I listen to podcasts. It's a brand new phone and I can't listen to podcasts without the battery draining. The phone also gets hot to the touch.

There is no fix for battery drain because there is no battery drain issue. Phones use energy, and the only source for that energy is the battery. And, as explained by the 2nd law of thermodynamics, all energy use is less than 100% efficient, and the percentage that is not actually supplying power to do stuff is emitted as heat.
