Printer names disappear after Mac OS system upgrades

I use my 2015 MBpro Mac OS 11.4 with a number of Brother printers each with different stationery.

After a system upgrade the printers lose the names I assign them and somewhat laboriously I have to identify each printer and rename.

Not an issue when updates are every month or so but they have been coming up to weekly recently.

Anyone else had this issue. Any solutions?

Thanks

SB

Reset the Printing System:

I had the same issue with my Epson Eco Tank Printers - Reseting the Printing System fixed it, as the drivers were installed in an instant.

What to do:

  1. Go To: System Preferences
  2. Select: Printers & Scanners
  3. Right-Click: on this pinter
  4. Select: Reset printing system...
  5. Click: Reset button
