I have just regrettably purchased the latest Apple TV, downloaded the Hayu app however each time I turn it on I am required to pair my tv. This is also occurring after I have watched one show and I can’t watch another until I pair it again! Very annoying as I now wish I’d bought another google chromecast which activates services with their remote and I don’t have that issue with my other tv!

I have never heard of that. Some services may require you to register the Apple TV box online (pair the account to a device), if you subscribed online (on the web, outside of the app). Anyway, that is a requirement of the app/service, and something you should bring up with the content provider.
