When I speak other side of call is muted

recently when Ive been on a phone call and speak, the other person's audio cuts out until I stop talking - then comes back after about half a second - using an IPhone 12 Pro and updated to the latest iOS.

it’s extremely off putting and I can’t find a solution to it.

I have made sure my reduce ambient noise option is turned off, and this did not fix the problem - and have spent a while searching settings without seeing another option that would help.

is There a way to get this to stop happening?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

georginailj,

Thank you for the follow up.

Since the issue is happening with two audio outputs through your speaker and headphones, we'd recommend testing the cellular connection next.

You can see if the issue happens while making a FaceTime audio call by following the steps in Use FaceTime with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If the issue does not occur with FaceTime audio, you'll need to reach out to your cellular carrier next.

If the issue does occur with FaceTime audio, you can contact Apple directly through Contact Apple Support for further troubleshooting.

Cheers!
