It can take a long time (weeks) to completely update the faces in a library.

But you are also looking there at an individual person. Photos needs to find a lot of images of a person to complete the update. If there are only a few, then it may show that message for a very long time or indefinitely. A couple of mine with only 3 or 4 images took more than a month to complete. Possibly longer as I stopped checking frequently.

Yes and no. You can remove the album for a person from the People album, but that will just hide the person and not delete the faces circles from each photo. You can only delete individual faces you added yourself, not the faces detected automatically by Photos. Deleting the custom faces you added will not speed up the face recognition. It does not matter, if some people albums cannot be completed. You can use the faces already in searches and smart albums. To get rid of the message you would have to import more photos of the people sith only a few faces or merge split albums of the same person.

That is expected. The library is holding only one named photo of Yael, and so Photos can only dhow you an incomplete album. Photos cannot show you any additional faces of Yael, because obe face does not suffice to learn what Yael is looking like. A smart album with the rule “Person is Yael” will show you the one photo. If you have more photos if this person, name the faces to fix this, or this album will stuck on updating for a very long time. I simply duplicated the one photo I have of the person; then Photos stopped the updating gor this album.
