My daughter is getting alerts through her calendar on her iPhone 8 that say: final notice: you have 25 minutes to update iPhone security.

Those are not legit, and there is something on your Calendar.
To remove them, follow the below instructions:
Navigate to the Settings App > Scroll down and click on Calendar > Click on Accounts > Delete any sketchy accounts that you do not recognize
This will remove any accounts that happen to be on your calendar.

That is a Phishing Scam:

It’s not malware or anything notable, it’s a subscribed calendar.
This calendar was offered by some website, and was accepted.
This calendar is clearly filled with advertising, and as that’s no longer desired (if it ever was), delete the calendar subscription.
Tap the Calendar button at the bottom of the Calendar app main display, scroll down and find the subscribed calendar block with the subscription that matches the color of the events that have been showing, tap the information ℹ️ button to the right of that matching subscribed calendar, scroll down, and delete it.
As correctly mentioned above, Settings can also be used too.
There’s no malware here, and nothing else needs to be addressed.
unfortunately, this is not legitimate DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS they may infect your device. go to your calendar side bar and disable any suspicious calendars or any that you or your daughter added
