Migration from PC to Mac

Hi, I've tried everything for days, soft and hard connections but no cigar. Mac sees PC but can't access it. All firewalls&PC protections turned off. Mac firewall off. I've hard wired it (ethernet to USB) but when I launch Migration Assistant (MA) it reverts to wifi and doesn't even acknowledge the cable connection. I turned wifi off on both computers to force a wire connection but on the Mac MA turns wifi back on.

I realize I could do a one-be-one transfer, but I'm afraid I'll misplace apps and other drivers when doing manually. I want to do it via MA so I can more easily pick and choose what to migrate and I wouldn't need to decide where to place it.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

The apps on your PC will not work on your mac so don't bother copying them over.

I personally would just copy over your personal data from your mac manually.

But if you are determined to use Migration Assistant then read this,
