iPhone 11 Pro Max volume controls

Since updating my iPhone to iOS 14.6 I can’t control the volume of my phone with the buttons. This is really inconvenient and frankly all the advice about restarting the phone have only provided temporary results, restart does not fix this issue. Everything was fine until the update so I don’t believe the buttons all of a sudden stopped working or that my phone is in need of repair. This is a glitch in the operating system. Assuming Apple is aware of this problem does anyone know if they are working on it?
