Can't upgrade to Mac Catalina

I can't upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina using the app store because it's telling me I need 10.66 to do that (which obviously I don't have. Duh). So trying to download Catalina through iTunes and it only shows the music store. When I go to Apple Support it only offers Big Sur, for which my computer is not on the approved upgrade list. Is Catalina no longer available? I don't want to risk trying to install Big Sur and having my iMac crash so I will have to buy a new computer.
