Apple Music re-authorization is required since upgrading to Big Sur

Ever since I upgraded to Big Sur I've had to re-authorize my MBPro each time I want to play something in my library (purchased through iTunes in 2005 - so prior to Apple Music). When I re-authorize I DO get a message saying this device has already been authorized and then everything works as it should. I have gotten rid of old laptops in my account, I have deauthorized and reauthorized again and this continues to happen. Any suggestions?
