Why won't Apple TV + autoplay next episode?

Device: new 2021 4k apple tv

App: apple tv +

Problem: App won't automatically play next episode.

Makes me watch the credits at the end of an episode, then forces me back to the main menu. The only pop up option during the end credits is "more from apple tv +".

Why is this broken? How do I fix this!?

This question has been asked multiple times with no real answer. Obviously apple tv app is having a software issue that doesn't allow auto play. It's been over a year from what I read in other forums on this exact issue. This problem is a bit ridiculous because it's the most basic of features expected of a streaming app. What's the point of watching any shows with multiple episode if you can only watch 1, then have to manually go back & choose the next episode?

If this isn't fixed, I'm definitely not wasting my money on Apple TV + when my free subscription is over. Now I'm not even sure why I bought the new 4k apple tv at all.

Same here. This is the only streaming service I’ve used that doesn’t auto play the next episode on anything I’ve tried. This is only an issue on my firesticks though. App works fine. So frustrating. Only signed up as I had 5 months free with my credit card. I won’t be renewing. Come on Apple, you’re better than this.

Before reading this thread and having only signed up 2 weeks ago, I too, was puzzled when I could not auto play subsequent episodes of FOUNDATION. Being an ardent sci-fi fan, I will certainly consider cancelling my subscription at the the end of both Foundation and the upcoming INVASION......... unless there is another unmissible sci-fi series planned!.

('SEE' not my cup of tea.)

This is must be by design, as a software engineer I don't see a reason why this hasn't been implemented from the very beginning. All other streaming platforms have this basic feature. When my free trial ends, I definitely don't plan to continue to pay for such a poor interface.

This is ridiculous! This is an App we pay additional money every month for! Fix it!!!!!!! Lazy software engineers!
