Att.net on iPad

trying to login to att.net on iPad. Worked on my iPhone when using Yahoo, will not update on iPad. Deleted, re-entered, changed settings and nothing. Is this a known issue? Will att.net not work on iPad any longer?

Hi there Tipper504,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having issues with logging into your AT&T account on your iPad, and we'd be happy to look into what's going on.

Just to clarify, are you trying to link your AT&T email to your iPad, are you trying to login into your account on the AT&T app, or are you trying to log in to your account from a web browser app?

For help with adding an email account to your iPad, check out this link here: Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If having issues with the AT&T app not working, give the steps listed here a try instead: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

If still running into issues after those steps, we would recommend reaching out to AT&T who may be able to provide some additional steps.

We hope that's able to help.

Take care!

Has you email provider switched to using App Specific Passwords? If so, you will need to generate a unique password for your iPad email account - that will differ from your normal Account Password. As examples - AOL, Yahoo and Google all use App Specific Passwords when using anything other than their own email client Apps.

If you need to generate an App Specific Password, you’ll need to log-in to your Mail Providers account management webpage - using a web browser - and generate the Password from the appropriate account security page.

More information about AOL’s App Specific Passwords can be found here:

For Yahoo, more information can be found here:
