my apple watch series three has been trying to update for a day and a half. I can’t get it to go through with the process and turn on. It is stuck on the pairing screen

Same problem. Spent many hours last night trying to get the watch to work again after the failed update. I tried many times unpairing and wiping clean to a factory reset and no luck. After several hours and much bad langauge I was able to get it working again by doing only a restore from backup and turn off autoupdate. Now I have to see the update prompt on my phone forever, but at least it works. This doesn't bode well for future updates as I expect it will only get worse. Apple needs to figure this out, how can this be possible when they still sell the Series 3!

I have unpaired and paired and done everything suggested and IT STILL STUCK! I have to work and cannot leave my phone at home to babysit my brick I mean DEAD WATCH!
