IOS 14.6 update problems
Anyone else got problems with their Music and Library and Playlists that have disappeared? It also gets stuck when it says ‘Syncing Library’ and stops doing it. My music and playlists have disappeared 😡

Same issue, switched to iPhone 12 from an iPhone 8, Apple Music get giving me the 'Syncing your Library' so I couldn't add more music. Proposed fixes ate my entire library.
Now I'm painstakingly adding an album every time it stops 'Syncing your Library' which takes 3/4 minutes every time for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

I managed to fix mine somehow, not sure why but it was a combination of:
Hi zelda147,
If possible, try using another Wi-Fi connection to rule out any possible connection issues since we see that the sync look like it was initiated. You may also want to try this on cellular data too to see if that helps. However, another strong Wi-Fi connection would be best.
Have a great day.
Similar issue - library won’t sync across devices. Just gets stuck on the syncing bar. Lossless is a massive treat, but I hope the bugs are ironed out quickly.
I’ve tried different connections, turning the phone off and on, signing out of iCloud, turning sync library off and on, but I’m still having the same problem.
Identical issue for my 2 month new iPhone 12. I've been in touch with support, "senior engineering" is working to resolve my issue. No, they're not. 3 weeks without Apple Music. Yesterday, Car Play started crashing (unrecoverable, I have to unplug the phone to get it to work again) in 3 different vehicles. Resolution: I'm trading this stellar non-functioning iPhone in to Samsung for $700 credit, paying just $190 for a new Galaxy, and will be at peace again with a phone that just plain works. I highly recommend this fix.
I’m just waiting for another update that might fix it. Really angry though Inam
paying for Premium Apple One for Music and Fitness etc. My Library is screwed. Can’t even add new albums to download with my Music Subscription. So angry😡 What am I paying for Apple???!!
Absolutely agree. Tried everything and am paying for Apple One Premium. Ha! What a joke that is. Still taking my money and no way to download to my Library any aApple
Music I like. Library is gone, done dusted, ‘rooted’ ( Aussie slang for ‘no good’) 😡
iOS 14.6 won’t let me shuffle only 1 playlist. Instead it shuffles my entire library into a single playlist. Never did this before this update. When I’m on a particular playlist & hit shuffle it should only shuffle that particular playlist, not the entire library.
So I’m having an issue with my music that I’ve paid for on iTunes on my phone…why is it I need to be connected to the wifi to play my music that I’ve payed for this hasn’t happened to me at all since I’ve owned my phone and payed off iTunes..I really would like a very good explanation on why this recent update has screwed me over
Hi everyone I had the same issues. I ended up doing factory reset on my iPhone Pro12 and after I restored from iCloud, my playlists showed up and my iCloud automatic back ups starting working again.
Happy to hear, Zelda! Seems like you’ve been going through it.
My friend is experiencing the same things. I’m a stickler for dl’ed content. Just don’t trust streaming fully.
Currently, my friend can’t even re-upload her music. Might have to suggest the “nuke it” approach (as previous poster mentioned) and reset her iPhone. I’m really at a loss as to why this keeps happening with Apple. You’d think they, of all people, would have this sorted out.
Yeah, I have tried all the other things mentioned by others with no success. Then after weeks of not even opening the Music app, I did and found all my playlists back. But, all the tracks I had downloaded are not there. That’s ok, happy to download again, now that I have my playlists back. I just don’t understand what happened with the IOS update. I download and back it up to my cloud. Don’t like the streaming services, I want it in my phone. Anyhoo, hang in there as it does seem to ‘right itself’, that’s what mine did. But, this is the only update that has done that to my Apple Music and playlists.
Yeah, my friend got everything back (but had to do a manual backup). Just frustrating to have Apple, with the rep they have, having issues like this. But it’s how it is. We’re spoiled I guess.
Glad I’m not alone in the locally stored media/content camp.
I lost all my playlists on MacBook, Pro, iPhone and iPad.
A few months ago updated my MacBook Retina MacOS and after rebooting my battery fried due a “software issue”, my battery has only 249 cycles and it’s not working. Now this issue with AppleMusic and all my devices…
Hi zelda147,
Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. Try to Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music. Be sure to check that all the requirements are met.
Have a great day.
