photos downloaded fro phone to desktop are blurry

I had some photos sent to me from an iPhone 12 via text to my iphone SE. I downloaded them to my desktop photos and they are all blurry or bitmapped looking - except one. Why is this and how do I fix the photo? Is it something in the phone settings? They say jpeg and not heic. When I see them on the phone or in the text they look fine. It is when you send them to the computer an look at them . I want to print out a photo and it's not going to look good.

Hello there, mmbak!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like photos you have downloaded from your iPhone to your iMac are blurry. How were these photos imported to the Mac? Since you got them from another iPhone, are they saved to the Photos app? Are you zooming into the photo? Keep in mind, JPEG photos are lower quality than HEIC (or HEIF) photos. Check out this article for more information about Using HEIF or HEVC media on Apple devices.

That is interesting because she sent them as Jpegs. My camera has them in Heic? and the heic are blurry when I try to email them . I have to pull them out of my photos album to desktop and they instantly change to jpeg. Then I can email them to Grandpad for my mom.

The pictures my sisters sent from her iPhone 12 went to my phone and then I downloaded the to my desktop photos album. They look fine as the small thumbnail but when I click on it to see it bigger it's all bitmapped and blurry. Only one picture was fine.

I will look at the article but It's so confusing and I want to print out photos for my mom or a frame and they are of such poor quality.

But what is the 3gp from the video that was sent to me in a text by an iPhone 12 to my SE?

I read the article provided and when I went to the QuickTime Player / File / Export as....it grayed items were 4K, 1080p & 720. So the only ones I could choose we're 780 and audio only .

I choose 480 and it was so tiny you couldn't even see the video.

I just want to be able to see the video and post it to facebook or grandpad.
