How to reset a program installer password?

Need to install a program on my mac and forgot installer password so how do I reset the installer password?

I did use that password and I know it’s correct and it won’t take it and yes I am trying to download software so I don’t know what I’m going to do thanks for the answers though.

And if your are the Admin User and forgot the computer password >>


Intel Computer


1 - Restart computer and immediately hold Command + r keys


2 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal


3 - Copy and Paste resetpassword as one word and no spaces


Press Return key


4 - Follow the prompts and remember the New Password


M1 Computer 

1 - Choose Apple menu > > Shut Down.


2 - Press and hold the power button on your Mac until you see “Loading startup options.”


3 - Click Options, then click Continue. 


4 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal


5 - Copy and Paste resetpassword as one word and no spaces


Press Return key


6 - Follow the prompts and remember the New Password

You need your Mac log in (Admin) password when trying to install something (or other admin stuff).


You need your Apple ID password when trying to download an app from the app store.


You do not need a password to download an app directly from the developer. That is unless they require a registration code for the download (that would be the registration code you get from them allowing you to download and install it after paying for it).
