You cannot.
Click on this link to find out 'How to reset your AirTag' --> https://support.apple.com/HT212251
"An AirTag can be associated with one Apple ID. If you want to use an AirTag that someone else has used, they need to remove the AirTag from their Apple ID first. If the previous user removed the AirTag from their Apple ID but they were out of Bluetooth range of the AirTag, then you need to reset it before you can use it with your devices."
I purchased these for my family for security and the capacity to find keys and my adolescents when driving. It appears to be a waste on the off chance that I can just see my keys' area and not the remainder of my families. We share the entirety of our apple administration and items and this has neither rhyme nor reason. Apple if it's not too much trouble, update this to incorporate family sharing.

Probably most deleted posts are not the result of Apple looking, but rather community users who "Report a discussion or answer that is off topic, inappropriate, or offensive. This option is available to make sure the community is a great place to learn." Source:

In fact, the Hosts look at all of the posts but ONLY for the purposes of determining if they conform to the Terms of Use. They don't read them for feedback or suggestions. They simply don't have the time.

I'm sorry but your post is not terribly clear. What is your technical support issue that we, your fellow users, can help you resolve?

How did Apple not account for shared devices? I added this to my car keys, which I share with my wife. Useless.
Not to mention that the one on my dog keeps chirping in the middle of the night while I’m away at work. Common Apple. What a horrible execution of what *could* have been a great product.

I was asking the same question. Huge missed opportunity. We share shopping lists, Apple Music ID, documents and know where all our devices are.
Especially the way people are using AirTags. ie on a dog collar to find our dog when he takes off.

Apple ... thinking... "Well if they cant share them they have to buy 2 to put in the Car, baby-bag, car-keys, "
OR is this just a scenarion that never came up, that people might SHARE a car and not have their own car?
I want to share an apple tag with wife and family, we share car keys and if one person puts them in the wrong place then we need to find them. Please add sharing!! 1 person can be the master and then allow others to have visability, just like with find my friends, it cannot be that hard, come on guys!! then I will buy 8 or 10!!
A missed opportunity here!!
So true and so annoying that this is not made very clear from the beginning. I simply expected that family sharing is activated on these. That's why we got them from Apple, because things just work. Well, not this time!
They may work how Apple has intended them to work, but not the way the customers would like them to work. This is our intention here to express of what we expect Apple to develop to meet our needs. We are the ones that end up buying the product and Apple needs to listen to our constructive feedback. Furthermore, I still think that we as customers are simply expecting and believing that these surely would be part of the system as it works with find my iPhone. This not being the case should be mentioned by Apple upfront. This is a shortcoming of a good customer communication in my humble opinion!
