Can't delete “Applescripts 17.00.37” because its pathname is too long.

Trying to empty Trash but the system keeps reporting that "Can't delete “Applescripts 17.00.37” because its pathname is too long".

Found a previous post but no replies, can anybody suggest a solution?

I finally managed to resolve the problem. The folder I was trying to delete had a folder within it that had a folder within it that had a folder within it and so on and so on. After expanding the folders I could delete each one separately and finally delete the original folder. Not sure how this happened but have seen other posts with the same problem, hope this helps!
