Opening files on my desktop
I can not open any of the folders on my desktop. That includes the hard drive. I don't know if they are opening up on another window or if they are just in the cloud. Any advice would be helpful.

Try Safe Mode:
What happens when you boot in Safe Mode? To boot into Safe Mode, [Hold Down: the shift key upon boot]. In safe mode, login items do not open at login, certain preferences are set aside, and system settings (i.e. caches do not open). So, see if the occurs while in Safe Mode. Then, wait 30 seconds and boot up normally, seeing if this is now fixed.
