In this case, it looks like your iPhone is actually running an older version of iOS. With that being the case, we want to recommend that the first step in troubleshooting this be updating your iPhone to the lates version available. That should be iOS 14.6. Here is how you can update: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Once you're up to date, restart the phone and test the News app again and seeing if the update helps resolve the issue.
