MacBook Pro password doesn't work for authorization

HI, I have set a password for my MacBook Pro. the password works to starts the laptop after shutting down or restart. but it doesn't work for authorisation to accept an update or install a new app. Pa

There are three levels of authentication, four in a corporate environment.

On older Macs:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204837

In corporate/school networks shared with Windows servers:

https://support.apple.com/guide/directory-utility/active-directory-and-mobility-ior6d33c187e/mac


So the big question is, did you link your Mac App Store password to any of these, or is it separate.
