Issue with listening to podcasts on Apple watch when not carrying my iphone

Hi, I updated my Apple watch software on June 12, 2021. As a result, when I go on a walk to listen to podcasts (I don't have my iphone with me and thus not connected to internet), I now get bombarded with the following message: device is not connected to the internet. This constant message is extremely annoying. This NEVER happened to me before when I went on walks listening to podcasts using my apple watch while not carrying my iphone. I am assuming that this issue is related to latest software upgrade I did for my Apple watch. Is it possible to find a fix to this issue please? Thank you for all your help. Elie

FYI: episodes downloaded to your apple watch are available even when out of range of iphone

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.

If you still have problems, you may want to report this to Apple. Use this link:
