not connected to internet while listening to podcasts

I updated my apple watch software on June 12, 2021. I now get bombarded with the following message while listening to podcasts on my apple watch while walking and not carrying my iphone: your device is not connected to the internet. FYI: episodes downloaded to your apple watch are available even when out of range of iphone. Anyway to remove those annoying 'your device is not connected to the internet' messages? Thanks.

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
