My message app is crashing after recent update to 5.0. Are there gonna be new updates soon? I have lost all my pictures and contacts in this app. I've spent hours on the phone with Verizon with no luck. I've restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled, restored phone and the app continues to crash on start up.

I am not sure how Apple can help resolve an issue with an App that is developed by Verizon. Have you tried to delete the app and the reinstall it from the App Store again? Not sure whether you would lose any data associated with the app or not.
By the way, all new updates to an app are provided by the developer of the app. Have you also posted this question in Verizon's support forums? If you still wish to contact official Apple Support then please click here ➔ Apple Support

There are no recent Apple updates that are versions 5.0 related. The Messages app is part of the iOS version 14.x that you already have. Which Messages app are you referring to? Is this an app developed by Verizon?

Yes it’s the message+ app developed by Verizon. I have called their tech support and they referred me to Apple…
