backup iPhone without itunes

I have an iPhone 11. The screen won't work - as in, no touch recognition. The glass is intact. I have tried all the recommended ways to deal with "screen disease" or a software problem, so I am at the point where it is entirely possible I will lose any media that hadn't been backed up - about two weeks worth, but a really big and important two weeks. So here is the question; How can I back up my phone WITHOUT use of the screen, using a laptop that is running the Catalina OS?

Plug in your iPhone to your Mac using the lightning/USB cable. Open Finder on your Mac and see if our phone appears in the left pane. If it does, depending on your settings, your Mac will perform a backup automatically or you can trigger a backup manually by clicking Back Up Now.

I would highly recommend doing a local encrypted backup for 2 reasons:

  1. local backups are more extensive than iCloud's
  2. encrypted backups also back up sensitive infos such as your passwords.
