Unknown error (1100) when trying to update an iPhone

I tried updating my iPhone to iOS 14.6 last night with iTunes on my computer and the update failed, and I see the iPhone restore screen on my phone. I'm trying to follow the instructions to restore and keep getting this message:


The iPhone "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1100).


"More Info" leads me to this page:

And following the instructions there don't work either. Is there something else that I can try?

We understand that you are not able to update your device, and it is currently the recovery mode screen.

It looks like you came from the article below. Have you had the chance to try all the steps in that article on a different computer?

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


If you experience the same issue when using a different computer, we recommend that you use the "contact Apple Support" link under the "Get more help" section on that article
