Bought used iPhone SE 2020 2nd Gen. and it's activation locked

I bought a iPhone SE 2020 2nd Gen. off of Facebook marketplace and the individual I bought it from apparently was not the original owner and sold me a phone that is activation locked. My service is through straight talk . Straight talk advised me to get a SIM card kit and use the Verizon SIM card . I have done that and when my Iphone asks to “Set up my new IPhone” I start the process manually and by transfer from my other active iPhone. I get a message that says iPhone is activation locked or it will say sim not supported. I’ve called the old service provider and they told me it’s locked . Since then I’ve put in a request to have it unlocked by apple but haven’t been told anything.

Replacing/switching the SIM card won’t do anything.
