Could not sign in to XCode after connecting to VPN

I have MacBook Pro 13inch with MacOS 10.15.7.

I use Cisco Any Connect to connect to the VPN address provided by the organisation but the problem is that after connecting to the VPN, when I open XCode (12.4) it asks me to sign in again and when I do that it keeps trying to sign in and then after sometime it gives the error that- "We're having error connecting to the Apple Server".

Also, after connecting to VPN internet doesn't work on my system, for Chrome and as well as Safari. But I tried to configure Firefox using the proxy settings provided by the IT Team and Firefox works well after connecting to VPN.

I have tried applying the same proxy settings for system wide access under Networks>Proxies but none of the options are working- HTTP Proxy, HTTPS Proxy, SOCKS Proxy, internet still doesn't work.

Can someone please provide the solution for it?

Hi Fm9891,

Thanks for posting your question in Apple Support Communities!

From the sounds of your issues this seems to be an issue related to your VPN that you are connected to. The best troubleshooting option here would be to speak with your IT department and possibly remove and re-establish the VPN connection. You can also do a scan for any malware on your Mac that may be preventing a secure VPN connection. You can scan by using software such as Malwarebytes.

Best Wishes

Hey Fm9891,

Do the apps and system connect when you are not connected to the VPN? If so, this would likely point to an issue with the VPN's configuration. Regardless of the intended setup or use of the VPN there are still issues that can arise that will prevent your Mac from accessing other internet servers when connected. You can try booting into Safe Mode and connecting the VPN to see if you are able to access xCode then. If that does not work then it may be best to contact Apple Support directly in order to receive some additional troubleshooting steps. You can contact them by following this link: Contact Apple Support.

Cheers.

The thing is that this VPN was created to access one client URL, the access to which is restricted to client's own system only. So, when I connect to that VPN address I am able to open that URL on my local system as well which is not of client, be it on Chrome, Safari or Firefox but apart from that I am not able to access internet as whole (except for on Firefox). Even none of the system apps are able to access internet like App Store, XCode and etc.

Hi, Thanks for replying.

Even I doubt the same, that this is some VPN related issue and different people from my IT Team have already looked into it but to no good. I am thinking how come the HTTPS proxy settings which are working for FIrefox are not working at system level when I apply them under Networks>Proxy. I have went through a lot of discussions but this is still unresolved.
