Mobile Accounts

Hi all

I have setup a new MacBook on the corporate network and am able to log in with an AD account no problem. Once logged in I can browse the network and access internet. The mac is encrypted with File vault so I converted the network account to a mobile account but after doing this I cannot get Internet to work even though the settings for the proxy server are all correct. The proxy that is being used is Sophos Web Appliance.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Cheers

Steve

Create and configure mobile accounts on Mac

A mobile account lets you access your server-based network user account remotely. You use your network account user name and password to log in, whether or not you’re connected to the network.

Before you start, ask your network account server administrator to set up a mobile user account for you.

  1. Log in to your Mac using your network user account.
  2. In the login window, enter your network account name and password. If the login window displays a list of users, click Other, then enter your network account name and password.
  3. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups .
  4. If the lock at the bottom left is locked , click it to unlock the preference pane.
  5. Click the Create button next to “Mobile account,” choose the disk where you want to store your local home folder, then click Create.

If the login window displays a list of users, your mobile account name is included in the list, and you can click it to log in (you don’t need to click Other, and then enter your account name). You set the login window to display a list of users in Users & Groups Login Options preferences.
