copy doesnt copy the people index.

Photos straight copy correctly copies the whole library except for people indexing. re-indexing people takes days. how can i copy all, including people indexing?

For some reason the option to Move selected photos from the shared to personal library on her phone no longer appears in the menu after selecting some photos. She had thousands,and I was able to move 99 at a time before, after which the button disappeared that was to the right of the trashcan, presumably because the font was too big in portrait orientation on the iPhone 13 (IOS 17 now). When I turned the telephone in landcape, the button reappeared and then I could move more than 99 at a time. I did this a few times, and now when I try to move more/the rest of them to personal lib so she can batch-download them (Can't select more than 1 from shared lib and download en masse with the icloud.com website), I dont have an element in the list of choices to move to Personal anymore. Why why why?

Is it possible to use Albums with a shared library? Is it possible to use Albums with a shared library? I am not using Shared Albums, I am using a Shared Library. I created a Shared Library. I moved pictures into it from my personal library by highlighting all pictures in an Album and designating that they be moved to the Shared Library, however, I cannot see how to move the Album structure with the pictures. I have 90,000 pictures that are in albums in my Personal Library on my iPhone and Mac, but in the shared library, all photos are in ONE place: the Shared Library for anyone but me. People I've Shared the Shared Library with, see 90,000 pictures in a flat structure (no Folders/Albums). There does not appear a way to bring my Folder/Album structure across to the Shared Library. This makes Shared Libraries mostly useless. Who would be willing to search through 90,000 photographs to find exactly what they are looking for? In terms of criticality, the Album/Folder issue is by far the most important; without structure, photos are hard to find. Has anyone been able to bring their folder/album structure across to the Shared Library so that other users can see and use the structure? There are other issues: PEOPLE: the list of PEOPLE is not synchronized between iPhone and MAC. The iPhone list seems more comprehensive, but I cannot get that list into the MAC. I cannot add to PEOPLE using the Address Book as the ID source. I can click all the buttons, but then 'nothing happens': no thing is added to 'PEOPLE'.

Which system version is running on your Mac?

I tested this just in Photos 5 on Catalina with a small test library. When I opened the copy of the library in Photos, the People album has been showing "updating" and I had to wait a bit, before I could view the people in the album, but all named faces have been visible as circles around the faces, when I viewed a photo enlarged. To see the faces circles enable the option "Show faces names" in the View menu. We can search for people and see the named faces as an overlay on the photo, even while Photos is repeating the faces scan.

I have a very large library - over 70,000 photos and update of faces takes over a week.

I just want the people index copied, so I don't have to update it every time I backup fort off-site storage
