Smart battery case

I have a smart battery case and an iphone 7. They used to both work fine. Now all of a sudden the phone battery is running out and the battery case remains fully charged. Why is the battery case not charging the phone? I have to fool with it, like pull the phone out and push it back in or shut it off and turn it back on, stuff like that, then the phone finally starts to pull the charge from the case. It's temperamental. What would cause this? But the phone always runs out first and THEN I have to mess with it to get the battery case to start working. I thought the case's charge was supposed to be used up first.

Hey JudyKay4444,

It appears that you're having issues with your iPhone 7 and Smart Battery Case, to where it isn't charging your iPhone not unless you remove the case and take other steps.

Got it. It sounds like there might be an issue with the Smart Battery Case since the issue continues after taking steps, and no longer seeing the charge status on your iPhone itself, so you can contact Apple Support for further assistance here: Contact Apple Support

That wasn't helpful. That was a bunch of information on how to charge your case both unattached to your phone and attached to your phone, update to the latest version of iOS (mine is), how to check your charge (I know how to do that), using accessories (does not apply) and a bunch of other stuff that does not apply.

Also one thing I noticed that happened at the same time this problem occurred - on the lock screen, I used to see the green battery status of both the smart battery case AND the iphone. Now I ONLY see the battery status of the iphone, NOT the battery case. Not sure why.
