Why do I need to constantly do this?
I constantly get the message that I need a software update for my iPhone when I connect to iTunes. Not always but enough to be super annoying and making me think of a life with an Android phone.

Oh I've allowed the patch dozens of times. Since Apple now closely resembles Microsoft, I rebooted my MBP, no change. This morning I tried again and the phone was doing that incredibly annoying never-ending bonging sound with no message to update the software and it wouldn't connect to iTunes. Just for kicks I just tried again and this time it connects to iTunes. I go through this cycle often and it's just ridiculous.
From the link above…
"If you continue to see this alert, make sure that your software on your Mac and iTunes are up-to-date."
If you allow the patch it will stop.
