Due to the instability of WiFi, I have to switch screen mirror on an iPad to dock connect in order to use the hdmi iPad adapter. The adapter appears to not functioning if screen mirror is still showing on the iPad even if the Apple TV has been turned off or disconnected from the AC outlet. It also appears that once the Apple TV is connected to a TV via a hdmi cable, the power on/off of the TV and other control functions will turn on the Apple TV. This is extremely annoying especially when one is watching off the air TV programs, iPad videos, blue rays-players, AppleTV, and other WiFi intensive apps.
