Hello

I relatively recently bought a Satechi bluetooth Keyboard for my Macbook Pro (which I purchased in December 2020). Had a couple issues initially connecting it, but it's been great since.

UNTIL... last week I open my computer up and it fairly instantly keeps going black, then coming back to life (looks/acts exactly like when I plug my laptop into my monitor); it then asks if I'm sure I want to turn off my computer. It will just continually do this until I disconnect my keyboard from bluetooth.

I've tried everything my non-computer savvy mind can think of/think to google. Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?

We understand you're seeing some abnormal display behavior when using a third party bluetooth keyboard.

Have you contacted the vendor (Satechi) to determine if they have seen other reports of this or if there is a known compatibility issue? Is this keyboard advertised to support Mac computers running the same operating system yours is?

You will also want to ensure your Mac is caught up on any updates.

Update macOS on Mac

If you haven't already, we would suggest locating your product on the manufactures website to see if there are any firmware updates that need to be downloaded.

Aside from these tips if unsuccessful in remedying the issue, a few other questions to potentially be able to support further. Are you getting any error messages when this occurs? You stated it seems to try to shut down your computer. Has it actually cased unexpected restarts or shutdowns, and if so have you received error messages after the restart?
