Why does my messages page look like this, with the Circled F at the top? What does it mean? How can I fix it to normal?

Hi there, Martilyn! Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are wanting to revert your Messages app to the way it looked before a change was made. We'd love to help. It appears that you may have added a favorite user to your iPhone’s Messages app. This is something that will allow you to put a few Contacts at the top of your screen, for people you frequently message or for whatever reason you wish.

Press and hold on the purple icon and see if an option to “unpin” comes up. If so, tap that and the icon will be removed. Please let us know if you have follow-up questions about this issue, or if the issue remains unresolved. Have a great day!
