My new tab page on safari on my iphone is empty

My safari new tab page doesn’t show recommended sites or bookmarks anymore, it’s just blank. I don’t know what to do or if it’s normal.

It is normal. I have the same configuration as you.

Once you type in an address or visit history or get to bookmarks, the page will populate.
