MacBook Air M1 - No silent clicking

Whether or not Silent clicking is selected in "Trackpad" preferences, I always get a click...

This is still happening on MacOS 11.4.

Does anybody have this problem?

I have the same problem. I started to hear this sound when I upgraded to 11.4 yesterday. It was rather quiet on 11.2 - the upgrade broke it. I can switch on or off the silent click in the settings but it doesn’t have any effect. That is irritating.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities sandev7,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your Trackpad. You have come to the right place and we are happy to assist in getting this resolved for you. We would recommend to restart computer, then uncheck silent, and recheck silent and see if that makes a difference. When on silent, you will still hear a faint click, but not as loud as when silent is selected.

Use Multi-Touch gestures on your Mac

Let us know if that makes any difference or if you need further assistance.

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
